Hunting season, Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and the Saturday After That™ (we just made that up) are coming. To be followed by Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and post-holiday returns and exchanges (and more sales). This is the busy season. Now is the time to make sure your website is ready to convert visitors into buyers. To help you get started, we’ve put together a list of things you can do RIGHT NOW to make sure your AmmoReady storefront is ready when the time comes.

1. Get a Logo

Displayed properly on your website, your logo communicates ownership. It tells potential customers who you are, what type of product or service you sell, or what benefit you offer consumers. If you don’t already have a logo, we recommend 99designs.com, because that’s where we got our logo.

2. Add Custom Slider Images

The slideshow on your homepage is like a billboard on the highway right in front of your business. AmmoReady provides some default images to make sure you’ve got something in place, but high-quality, custom-designed images promoting specific products, brands, services, or promotions are a proven, effective “call-to-action” designed to convert visitors into customers. Guess what, you can use 99designs for banner ads too!

3. Customize Your Featured Categories

Not only can you choose which categories to feature, you can also customize the images used to feature them. This is a great way to differentiate your storefront with visually compelling images, while steering shoppers to the specific categories where you are seeing the most sales, or highest margins, or offer the most competitive prices. Sites like Shutterstock are a great place to buy high-quality photos for your site.

4. Capture Email Addresses

An average conversion rate for an ecommerce website, depending on the industry you’re in, can range from less than 1% to low single digits. That means that 95% or more of all visitors to your site are not buying. Pro-actively capturing email addresses from visitors that don’t buy (on that visit), creates the opportunity to sell to them later. Most email marketing solutions like MailChimp and Constant Contact offer tools for capturing email addresses on your website via pop-ups, forms, scrolling boxes, or banners.

5. Provide Live Chat or a Chatbot

It’s 2018, and ecommerce is an arms race. Providing a streamlined, non-invasive way for customers to ask questions, while shopping, without having to make a call or send an email is HUGE. There are multiple services like Tawk.to that are powerful but simple to use – and free. Answering questions and addressing concerns at the time of purchase can make the difference between a sale and an abandoned cart.

If you have the staff, skills, or time to invest in developing your AmmoReady storefront, starting with these five specific things will go a long way towards creating an online shopping experience that gets results. If you don’t have the staff, skills, or time, we do. AmmoReady offers storefront customization for a low, one-time fee. We’ll start with your existing logo, or help you get one. We’ll create a custom color scheme, use custom fonts, help you create SEO optimized content, create custom slider images, and add visually compelling photos to your storefront.
